Plante & Moran Corporate Real Estate Service Advisors (P&M CRESA) has an immediate opening in Southfield, Michigan, for an experienced Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager is responsible to enhance good relationships with existing clients through successful project execution with minimal assistance and have been awarded work based upon his/her performance
  • Track future work opportunities for assigned clients, with minimal assistance, participate directly in preparing and submitting proposals for generating new work to maximize Plante & Moran CRESA's share of awarded projects
  • The Project Manager is responsible for the efficient assignment of and execution by staff among his/her projects
  • Maintain an awareness of the Clients' needs in and Clients' project parameters so that Plante & Moran CRESA can coordinate design and construction activities do not interfere with the Clients' operations
  • A Project Team Manager shall generally be assigned to maximize one of the following scenarios:
    • Single Large Project Focus - Full time assignment with the use of Senior Associates and/or Associates, and staff members
    • Multiple Client Focus - The Project Manager will handle multiple projects with multiple client focus overseeing Senior Associates and/or Associates and staff members
This person will also be responsible for:
  • Attending and participating in meetings with the Client, Architect and Constructors
  • Conferring with Senior Associates or Associates on strategic or technical issues to ensure a delighted client and a successful project that meets project specific profit goals
  • Preparing proposals for new work. Preparing and collaborating with Client and/or Clients' legal counsels regarding Architects' Contracts, Constructors' Contracts, General Conditions, project major milestone schedules, and contractors' Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposals with Partners in responsible charge of the project
  • Preparing, along with assigned Business Development personnel, presentations for new work (assigned existing and new clients)
  • Preparing and making presentations to Clients as requested for projects in progress
  • Assisting Clients to negotiate and draft Contracts for review by Clients' legal counsels, and approval by the Client
  • Identifying potential risks to the Clients' on-going operations planned project. Develop plans and measures to minimize and mitigate the potential risks
  • Reviewing and approving Monthly Project Status Reports prepared by the Architect and/or Contractor/Construction Manager
  • Ensuring implementation and compliance of Plante & Moran and Plante & Moran CRESA policies and procedures on projects
  • Directly oversee project team members performance and morale. Directly engage in addressing and resolving all personnel issues as they arise
  • Developing skills and mentor Senior Associates, Associates and staff members; make recommendations for career advancement of Associates and staff members

Background Experience:

  • Degree obtained from an ABET college or university
  • Registered architect or licensed professional engineer
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 30-40%)
  • Solid understanding of the design and construction process
  • Must be detailed oriented and willing to follow strict guidelines and procedures
  • Healthcare experience is desirable (hospital or long-term care)
